You have to survive for as many days as possible. During the daytime, you can go in and out of your safe house to collect flasks for water, medkits for health, or go find some survivors in the area around you and when they see you guide them back to the tent. Guiding them back to the tent, allows for more water to be gathered which can lead to longer survival. Zombies are there in the day time too but they can only see you if you go really close to them, you lose health when the zombies touch you. Before nighttime, get back inside the iron walls before it closes or you will be stuck outside for the night. During the night time, left click through your mouse somewhere outside of your iron walls from inside the walls to place a defender plant. Defender plants take one water to place and can't be moved after but they defend against enemies. They will also be destroyed after killing 4 zombies. The fences around the tent base will be destroyed after some zombies meaning the player will need to constantly move around.

Left Click on Terrain- Place Plant 

Hold Right click - Zoom in
